Patna: Residents of Patna’s Mithapur-Sipara area are set to get access to a modern recreational park, with the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) approving the construction of a new park in Ward No. 30 at Sipara.
The park will be developed across approximately 14,717 square feet at an estimated cost of ₹3.97 crore under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. The municipal corporation has also issued a tender for the project.
The park was earlier proposed to be developed by the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO) at an estimated cost of ₹1.85 crore. The project will now be executed by the Patna Municipal Corporation.
Once completed, the facility is expected to become the first modern park in the Mithapur-Sipara area, providing recreational and fitness facilities for residents of different age groups.
Facilities for children, youth and senior citizens
The park has been planned with facilities catering to people of different age groups.
A children’s play area will be developed for younger visitors, while an open gym will provide fitness facilities for youth and senior citizens.
The park will also feature an illuminated fountain, along with gazebos and designated seating areas for visitors.
A Yoga Kutir will provide space for yoga and wellness activities, while a dedicated walking track will allow residents to walk and exercise.
The project will also include an “I Love Sipara Park” selfie point. Green spaces, decorative paintings and lighting will be used to enhance the overall appearance of the park.
Drinking water, toilets and security facilities
The proposed park will include drinking water facilities, modern toilets and a ticket counter for visitors.
For security and illumination, high-mast lights and solar lights will be installed. A dedicated drainage system will also be developed to address waterlogging during the monsoon.
According to the municipal corporation, the project is targeted for completion within 12 months.
Once completed, the park is expected to provide residents of Mithapur, Sipara and adjoining areas with a dedicated space for family outings, yoga, exercise and morning and evening walks.
