Patna : A 23-year-old man went missing in the Ganga near Khaspur village in Maner, Patna district, on Sunday after helping three friends who were struggling in deeper water.
According to the report, four friends — Ashutosh Kumar, Arvind, Ranjan and Prince — had gone to the river near their village to bathe in the afternoon.
During the incident, three of them moved into deeper water and began struggling. Ashutosh entered the river to help them and managed to bring all three friends back to safety.
Search Underway For Missing Youth
After helping his friends, Ashutosh became exhausted. He subsequently moved into deeper water and went missing.
His friends and people nearby searched the area, but could not locate him. Ashutosh has been identified as the 23-year-old son of Amarnath Rai and a resident of Khaspur.
Following the incident, Mukhiya representative Bodhnath Rai informed the administration. Officials reached the spot and began efforts to locate the missing youth.
At the time of the report, the SDRF team had not yet reached the location, while local residents and administrative personnel continued the search in the river.
Family Awaits Information
The incident drew a crowd of local residents to the Ganga ghat as news of Ashutosh’s disappearance spread.
His family was also at the site and awaiting information about the search. Authorities continued efforts to locate him in the river area.
