Patna: The Vigilance Investigation Bureau conducted simultaneous raids at four locations linked to Patna ADM (Supply) Ravindra Kumar Diwakar and his wife, Kumari Sweety, the District Sub-Registrar of Danapur, on Monday in connection with a disproportionate assets case.
The searches covered their residences and offices in Patna and Begusarai. According to the Vigilance Department, the teams recovered more than Rs 70 lakh in cash and jewellery valued at around Rs 80 lakh from the two residences.
The Bureau has registered an FIR alleging possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs 1,06,85,900.
Cash Counted With Machine
More than 100 bundles of Rs 500 notes were recovered during the searches, according to the Vigilance Department.
The volume of cash was such that the search team used a currency-counting machine to complete the counting process.
The team also recovered around 40 expensive foreign watches from the Patna residence. Their combined value has been estimated at more than Rs 1 crore.
Documents related to investments were also seized during the searches.
Searches In Patna And Begusarai
The Vigilance Bureau obtained a search warrant from the court on Monday in connection with Vigilance PS Case No. 113/26 and conducted simultaneous searches during the afternoon.
One of the searches was carried out at the couple’s ancestral residence in Pokharia area of Begusarai’s Ward No. 37, where a substantial amount of cash was reportedly found.
Searches were also conducted at their residences in Patna. The team that searched the couple’s offices did not find anything significant, according to the Vigilance Department.
ADM Has Served In Gaya, Saran
Diwakar had previously served as an SDM in Gaya and as DPRO in Saran. He has been posted as ADM (Supply) in Patna for around a year.
He currently resides in a rented flat at Kashyap Green City on Nahar Road under the Rupaspur police station area in Danapur.
According to the information provided, he has also purchased two flats, including a penthouse, in the same apartment complex. Maintenance work is currently underway at the properties.
Vigilance Says Searches Strengthen Case
The Vigilance Department said the recovery of cash and other movable and immovable assets during the searches has further substantiated its case concerning alleged possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income.
The investigation will now examine the recovered assets, investment documents and other material seized during the searches.
