Patna News: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Greenlights Anishabad-Phulwari-AIIMS Elevated Road Project; Work to Begin this December
Patna, 15th October 2023: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a thorough inspection of the forthcoming Anishabad-Phulwari-AIIMS elevated four-lane project yesterday, affirming its progress and urging officials to expedite construction efforts.
During the inspection, Kumar, along with top government officials, examined key points along the projected route, including Anishabad Golambar and AIIMS Golambar. Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department, Pratyaya Amrit, briefed the Chief Minister on the technical aspects of the project. The initiative is to span a total distance of 8.9 kilometers, with an elevated stretch covering 7.9 kilometers.
Kumar instructed officials to finalize the Detailed Project Report (DPR) by December 2023 and to commence construction immediately thereafter. “The timely completion of this elevated road will provide immense relief to the residents of Phulwarisharif by alleviating traffic jams. Moreover, the project will greatly ease access to AIIMS and improve overall traffic flow in and out of Patna,” said Kumar.
With an estimated budget exceeding Rs 1,000 crore, the project will include designated ramps at both the Anishabad and AIIMS ends.
In attendance during the inspection were Finance, Commercial Taxes, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary; Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar; Secretary of Road Construction Department Sandeep Kumar R. Pudukalkatti; Chief Minister’s Special Functions Officer Gopal Singh; District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh; and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeev Mishra, among other senior officials.
This elevated road project has been lauded as a critical infrastructure development that aligns with broader urban planning and traffic management goals for the city of Patna. The undertaking aims to facilitate smoother commutes, reduce travel time, and contribute to the region’s economic growth.
