Patna: Student organisations All India Students’ Association (AISA) and the Revolutionary Youth Association (RYA) have announced a fresh round of protests across Bihar, declaring that their agitation over the recent student demonstrations will continue until all criminal cases registered against protesters are withdrawn.

The announcement follows the Bihar Bandh organised by AISA on Saturday, with the groups now calling for a statewide Day of Protest on July 30. A road blockade has also been planned in the Paliganj Assembly constituency.

Protest To Skip Patna On July 30

Leaders said the demonstrations would be held across Bihar on July 30, excluding Patna, where elections are scheduled that day.

According to the organisers, the protest in Patna will instead take place the following day.

They maintained that the movement was far from over and would continue until all cases filed against students and activists were withdrawn.

Demand For Release Of Arrested Students And Leaders

RYA national president Ajit Kumar Singh accused the government of adopting a contradictory approach by engaging in dialogue while continuing to detain student leaders, legislators and protesters.

He alleged that hundreds of students who had raised their demands through democratic means had been jailed and called for the immediate and unconditional release of everyone currently in police custody.

Singh further alleged that the government’s actions amounted to the suppression of democratic dissent, a claim the state government has not publicly responded to.

AISA Chief To Visit Bihar

AISA said its national president, Neha Bora, will arrive in Bihar on July 27 for a two-day visit.

During the visit, Bora is expected to meet student leaders and activists who were arrested during the protests and are currently in judicial custody.

She will also visit students who were injured during the police lathi-charge and are undergoing treatment, according to the organisation.

Strategy For Next Phase Of Movement

AISA said Bora would hold discussions with student groups and representatives from across the state to formulate the next phase of the agitation.

The organisations have maintained that they will continue their campaign until their demands—including the withdrawal of criminal cases against protesters and the release of those arrested—are met.
