Chhapra/Ara: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav joined Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar on Saturday, travelling alongside Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Lalu Prasad’s daughter Rohini Acharya in a show of opposition unity.
On the 14th day of the march, the yatra set out from Saran towards Bhojpur, drawing large crowds on the route. Akhilesh Yadav embraced Tejashwi as the two leaders met, while Rohini Acharya, who contested the Lok Sabha elections from Saran earlier this year, also joined them in the same vehicle.
Tejashwi launched a sharp attack on the BJP, accusing it of sheltering “violent people”. “Godse is their ancestor, who killed Mahatma Gandhi. There are rapists and corrupt people in their party,” he said.
The yatra has entered Bhojpur district later in the day, where a launda dance has been scheduled later in the day in Rajapur to welcome Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav. In Babura village, supporters lined the roads from the entrance of the village to the meeting ground.
