Muzaffarpur: Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express faced a major disruption on Tuesday after its engine developed a technical fault at Muzaffarpur Junction in Bihar, resulting in a delay of more than two hours before departure.
The incident affected passengers waiting at Platform No. 3, where the train was scheduled to leave in the afternoon.
Engine Failure at Platform
According to railway officials, the engine of the Amrit Bharat Express failed to build air pressure due to a disruption in power supply, preventing it from starting.
Despite repeated attempts by technical staff and the loco pilot, the fault could not be rectified on site.
The train, operated under the East Central Railway zone, was initially scheduled to depart at 11:25 AM and was later rescheduled to 1:00 PM before the technical failure occurred.
Replacement Arranged from Another Service
Officials said the Railways had to detach an engine from the Down Saptakranti Superfast Express and attach it to the stranded rake to restore operations.
Following the replacement, the train eventually departed at 1:36 PM for Charlapalli in Hyderabad, running 2 hours and 11 minutes behind schedule.
Passengers reported long waiting times at the station, with several raising concerns over operational preparedness and maintenance standards.
