DSP Transfers And Jagdishpur Encounter Case

The reshuffle also includes the transfer of 53 Deputy Superintendents of Police.

Among them is Rajesh Kumar Sharma, the former Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Jagdishpur, who has been posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police, Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau, Patna.

Sharma had earlier been removed from field duties following the Bharat Tiwari encounter case.

In that case, police registered a murder case against several personnel, including the then Station House Officer Rajesh Malakar and SDPO Rajesh Kumar Sharma, based on a complaint filed by Bharat Tiwari’s mother. The victim’s family has continued to demand the arrest of the officers named in the FIR.

The state government has directed all transferred officers to assume charge of their new postings with immediate effect.
