Patna: In a dramatic late-night operation, Patna Police arrested strongman and JD (U) candidate Anant Singh from his Barh residence in connection with the murder of RJD leader and Jan Suraaj supporter Dular Chand Yadav in Mokama. The arrest, carried out around midnight on Saturday, followed a raid involving nearly 150 officers led by Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma. Singh was detained along with two associates, Manikant Thakur and Ranjeet Ram alias Dimagi, and taken to Patna for questioning.
The arrests come amid escalating tension in Mokama following Dular Chand’s killing during an election campaign clash on October 30. Police confirmed that based on eyewitness accounts, video evidence, and the post-mortem report, Anant Singh was present at the scene and is the main accused in the case.
“This is a serious incident and a violation of the Model Code of Conduct,” SSP Kartikeya Sharma said during a press briefing. “Anant Singh and his two associates have been arrested based on evidence and witness statements. They will be produced before a magistrate on Sunday.”
