Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has declared movable and immovable assets for 2025, disclosing modest cash holdings, a flat in Delhi, and ownership of livestock including 10 cows. The declaration, made under the Representation of the People Act, 1951, was published on December 24, 2025 and continues his annual practice of financial transparency.
According to the document, the chief minister holds Rs20,552 in cash and around Rs57,000 in bank accounts. He has Rs27,217 deposited in a branch of State Bank of India at the Parliament House, and Rs3,358 in another SBI branch. A further Rs27,191 is held in Punjab National Bank on Boring Road in Patna.
His vehicle, a Ford EcoSport purchased in 2015, is valued at about Rs11.32 lakh. The declaration also lists two gold rings and a pearl-studded silver ring, together worth roughly Rs2.03 lakh. Livestock remains part of his assets: 10 cows and 13 calves valued at about Rs1.45 lakh. Household items such as a treadmill and a spinning wheel are included in the inventory, bringing total movable assets to an estimated Rs17,66,196.
The largest immovable asset is a 1,000 sq ft flat in Dwarka Sector 5, purchased in 2004 for Rs13.78 lakh and now valued at approximately Rs1.48 crore. The chief minister reported no agricultural or other land holdings in Bihar.
The declaration states that he has no outstanding debts or loans and no unpaid dues to utility providers or government departments.
