Kishanganj: A review meeting of the District Supply Task Force, chaired by District Magistrate Vishal Raj, has raised concern over the slow pace of Aadhaar seeding among ration card holders. Officials reported that only 69.42% of beneficiaries have completed their Aadhaar linkage, leaving 30.58% still pending. The District Magistrate instructed all block supply officers to ensure every beneficiary completes the process promptly to avoid disruptions in food grain benefits.
The administration warned that the names of beneficiaries who fail to complete Aadhaar seeding on time will be removed from ration cards. This would prevent families from receiving their allocated share of wheat and rice. The District Magistrate also reviewed food grain distribution for December, which currently stands at 17.71%, and instructed officers to improve distribution efficiency. So far, 66.42% of food grains have been moved from the State Food Corporation warehouse to PDS centres.
The new 2:3 ratio distribution system, scheduled to begin in January 2026, was also discussed. Under the new rules, Antyodaya families will receive 14 kg of wheat and 21 kg of rice each month, while priority households will get 2 kg of wheat and 3 kg of rice per person per month. The review showed that 2,133 applications under Form A and 5,802 under Form B for new ration cards are still pending, prompting instructions for faster processing.
Progress under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was also found to be slow. Against a target of 95,000 free gas connections for December, only 3,503 have been issued so far. All gas agencies have been directed to accelerate their work to meet the target. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Additional Collector, District Supply Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer, State Food Corporation representatives, block supply officers, warehouse managers and gas agency owners.
