Patna: The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has approved the allotment of more than 20 acres of land to 19 industrial units across the state, in a move officials say will accelerate manufacturing activity and generate local employment.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Project Clearance Committee (PCC), which cleared proposals for land and plug-and-play industrial sheds across multiple industrial areas. The approved projects are expected to bring in investment of approximately Rs 284 crore and create around 1,200 jobs.
The units span a range of sectors including food processing, footwear, electronics, textiles, plastics, compressed biogas (CBG) and general manufacturing. They will be set up in industrial zones such as Kumarbagh, Begusarai Industrial Growth Centre and Hajipur Industrial Area, among others.

Among the approved applicants are Shrinath Biofuels, Rashirishu Group, Lubna Shoes and Sharv Enterprises.
Officials said the allocation is intended to strengthen Bihar’s industrial base by expanding production capacity across diverse sectors while encouraging private investment in the state’s manufacturing ecosystem.
Kundan Kumar, secretary of the state’s Department of Industries and managing director of BIADA and IDA, said the government remained committed to “balanced and comprehensive” industrial development.
He added that BIADA was working to ensure “transparent and time-bound” allocation processes for industrial land, alongside efforts to improve infrastructure, connectivity and policy support to facilitate quicker project implementation.
The latest approvals form part of the state’s broader strategy to position Bihar as an emerging destination for industrial investment, officials said.
