Patna: The Bihar government will soon begin hiring for 1,089 vacancies in the Cooperative Department, with Cooperative Minister Dr Pramod Kumar directing officials to “complete the recruitment process as quickly as possible.” The requisition for all posts has already been dispatched to the relevant commissions.
The order came during a departmental review meeting on Friday, where the minister stressed that filling these long-pending vacancies was essential for improving service delivery, strengthening cooperative institutions and creating new opportunities for Bihar’s youth.
Breakdown of Vacancies Sent to Commissions
According to officials, requisitions have been sent for a wide range of posts across the department:

35 posts to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), including

31 Assistant Registrars

4 District Audit Officers

-
502 posts of Cooperative Extension Officer also referred to BPSC

198 posts of Auditor to the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC)

7 posts of Stenographer
-
257 posts of Lower Division Clerk

90 posts of Office Peon
The process for some positions has already begun, with advertisements issued and early-stage screening underway.
Officials further noted that five gazetted officers, recently selected through the 69th BPSC examination as Assistant Registrars, have been nominated for a mandatory four-week induction training at Bipad, Gayaji, marking the fourth phase of their onboarding.
Employment Drive Aimed at Strengthening Governance
Minister Pramod Kumar emphasised that the recruitment drive is directly linked to the government’s priority of expanding job opportunities and improving administrative performance.
“Providing employment to youth remains one of our foremost commitments. With qualified officers and staff in place, the department will be able to implement schemes more effectively and improve its overall work culture,” he said.
