Patna: The Bihar government has made a big reshuffle in the police department just before Durga Puja. Seven Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) have been transferred to new postings across the state. The decision has been taken to maintain peace during the festive season and to prepare for the upcoming elections. Officials said that the reshuffle is meant to strengthen policing in sensitive areas and improve law and order.
According to the notification issued by the Home Department, several important changes have been made. Araria Headquarters DSP Fakhre Alam has been transferred and made Traffic DSP. Nawada Traffic DSP Rishabh Shiv Ranjan has been given a new posting in the Special Security Team in Patna. Patna CID DSP Akash Kishore and SCRB DSP Shatrughan Kumar Mandal have also been moved to the Special Security Team. Secretariat Security DSP Manoj Kumar Singh has been made Araria Headquarters DSP, while Araria Traffic DSP Diwan Ekram Khan has been transferred to BSAP-7 in Katihar. Patna BCP-1 DSP Rajesh Ranjan will now look after Secretariat Security.
The transfers are seen as an important step to improve security arrangements in the state. With Durga Puja approaching, large crowds will gather for celebrations in different districts, and the government wants to ensure that peace is maintained. Special focus will be given to traffic management, crowd control and quick response to any disturbance.
The Home Department has instructed the newly posted officers to take charge quickly and make sure there is no lapse in maintaining peace during the festival season. Officials have also said that these changes will help create a safe and fear-free environment during the upcoming elections.
