Patna: Patna Metro Rail has moved closer to starting operations after a successful safety inspection by Metro Rail Safety Commissioner Janak Kumar Garg. On Tuesday, Garg visited the Patna Metro depot, inspected the trains and checked three stations on the priority corridor. Officials said this was an important step before the metro can begin carrying passengers.
During the inspection, the safety commissioner reviewed every part of the system, including station facilities, train coaches and depot arrangements. He stressed that all safety, security and operational standards must be followed strictly so that passengers can enjoy a safe and comfortable travel experience when the metro becomes operational.
After the inspection, a high-level review meeting was held by the Urban Development and Housing Department and Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL). The meeting focused on making sure that all systems are ready for the start of passenger service, including technical checks and staff preparedness.
To involve the public, officials have announced that Passenger Service Day will soon be celebrated. This event will introduce people to the metro system and highlight the facilities available. Media organisations have been requested to spread the word widely so that more people are aware of the upcoming services. With this inspection completed, Patna is one step closer to joining other cities in India that have modern metro networks.
