Patna: Patna Women’s College organised a special workshop on “GST Return Filing” for students of B.Com (Hons) Commerce Professional on September . The event was in the MVEIC Hall and was attended by students of Semester III and V. The aim of the session was to give students a clear and practical understanding of Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance and return filing procedures.
The session started with the felicitation of the guest speaker, CA Amit Kumar, who was welcomed with a plant sapling by CS Shweta Shah, Coordinator of the Department of Commerce Professional. This symbolic gesture highlighted the department’s commitment to growth, learning and sustainability. Students participated with excitement and curiosity, ready to learn about GST and how it is applied in day-to-day business operations.
Throughout the session, CA Amit Kumar gave detailed explanations on different types of GST returns, their due dates and the online process of filing. He spoke about input tax credit reconciliation, common mistakes that businesses make, and simple strategies to avoid penalties while staying compliant. The workshop became more interesting as he included live demonstrations and case studies. This allowed students to see the process in action and understand how to handle GST returns in a real business setting.
The workshop ended with a question-and-answer round where students clarified their doubts and deepened their understanding of the topic. The event was moderated by Priya Kumari, while Ananya Raj of Semester V delivered the vote of thanks. By the end of the session, students gained valuable hands-on exposure that will help them in their future careers, making the workshop a meaningful and practical learning experience.
