Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has once again emerged as the frontrunner in the race for Bihar’s chief ministership, according to the September survey conducted by research agency C-Voter. The poll highlights shifting public sentiment as the state edges closer to the 2025 assembly elections.
Tejashwi, who has consistently topped the rankings since February, saw his popularity dip from 40% earlier this year to 31.3% in August. However, the September findings show a recovery, with his approval climbing to 35.5%.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, whose ratings had been sliding, also registered a modest rebound. After falling from 18% to 14% in August, his popularity rose slightly to 16% in September.
Prashant Kishor, the strategist-turned-politician leading the Jan Suraj Party, has shown a steady upward trajectory. His rating, 14.9% in February, climbed to 18.2% in June, overtaking Nitish Kumar. The September survey places him at 23.1%, solidifying his position as a serious contender.
Union minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan ranked fourth with 9.5%, a drop from his peak of 10.6% in May. Deputy chief minister and BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary saw his support shrink further, slipping from 9.5% last month to 6.8% in September.
The survey, conducted monthly throughout the election year, underscores Tejashwi Yadav’s sustained edge while pointing to the rising challenge from Prashant Kishor and the faltering prospects of NDA leaders Paswan and Chaudhary.
