Patna: As Bihar prepares for assembly elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has sought to put an end to speculation over the chief ministerial candidate of the opposition Grand Alliance, insisting there is “no confusion” within the bloc.
Speaking to Media, he said: “The public is the owner of Bihar and it makes the chief minister. People want change, and there is no confusion about the face of the chief minister – it will be announced on time.”
His remarks follow comments from Mukesh Sahni, leader of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), who recently declared that Yadav would become chief minister if the alliance came to power, with Sahni himself taking the deputy chief minister’s post. RJD workers have also been publicly referring to Yadav as Bihar’s next CM. The Congress, however, has not yet endorsed him as the alliance’s official face.
Yadav has launched the Bihar Adhikar Yatra from Jehanabad on Tuesday. The campaign will travel through 11 districts and several constituencies, including Bakhtiyarpur, Begusarai, Khagaria and Samastipur, many of which were left out during his earlier Voter Rights Yatra.
The tour is being positioned as a drive to boost voter awareness, encouraging people to add their names to the electoral rolls and correct errors. Political analysts view it as both a democratic outreach effort and a bid to consolidate grassroots support ahead of the polls.
