Patna: A two-day seminar-cum-exhibition on the development of food processing industries in Bihar is set to be held on July 18 and 19, 2025. The event, titled Development of Food Processing Industries in Bihar – Opportunities and Challenges, is being organised by the Bihar Industries Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises at the association premises.
The initiative is supported by APEDA, NABARD, Government of Bihar, SBI, SIDBI, and other organisations. While highlighting the objective of the seminar, organisers stated that Bihar holds vast potential for the development of food processing industries. The seminar will discuss sector-specific issues and opportunities to identify the way forward for this industry in the state.
The formal inauguration will take place on July 18 at 3 pm by the Speaker of Bihar Legislative Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav. The closing ceremony on July 19 will be attended by the Industry Minister and the Chief Secretary of Bihar.
The programme will include five technical sessions featuring discussions by experts on topics such as food processing, financial assistance, value addition, supply chain, cold-chain, marketing, and dairy. Scientists and professionals from reputed institutions including ICAR, CPRI, APEDA, NIFTEM, NABARD, SIDBI, SBI, Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology, Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agriculture University Pusa, Natural Storage Solution Pvt Ltd, BNAL, and ACCEL India will participate.
An exhibition will also be organised to showcase food products manufactured by industrial units across Bihar, highlighting the capabilities and innovations within the state’s food processing sector.
Organisers emphasised that this event will help position Bihar as an emerging agro-based industrial hub, fostering collaboration between policymakers, industry representatives, academicians, and entrepreneurs.
Association President KPS Keshari, General Secretary Amarnath Jaiswal, Treasurer Arvind Kumar, former Presidents Arun Agarwal and Ramlal Khetan, Food Processing Committee Chairman Manish Kumar, along with other office bearers, were present at the announcement.
