Gayaji: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Gayaji on Wednesday to review preparations for the State Pitru Paksha Mela, scheduled from September 6 to September 21.
During his visit, CM Nitish first offered special prayers in the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Vishnupad temple, seeking progress and prosperity for Bihar. He then proceeded to Devghat to inspect the mela premises, checking arrangements for drinking water, sanitation, housing, and electricity.
The administration has emphasized that no lapses will be tolerated as lakhs of devotees are expected from across India and abroad. The Pitru Paksha Mela in Gayaji, renowned for its spiritual and cultural significance, once again positions the city as a center of faith and tradition.
In the evening, CM Nitish is scheduled to hold a review meeting with officials at the Collectorate to gather feedback on the preparations and ensure smooth management of the fair.
