Patna: The Jan Suraaj Party marked its first foundation day on Saturday in Patna, with National President Uday Singh chairing the event and party architect Prashant Kishor pledging to continue an “honest and untarnished” political journey.
Addressing members of the National Executive, district leaders, and supporters, Kishor told the gathering that while the party’s one-year journey may not yet be considered glorious, it has remained free of blemish. “I assure you that you will never face embarrassment because of my conduct and thoughts. I will use all the wisdom and strength God has given me in this endeavour,” he said.
Uday Singh praised Kishor’s vision, which he said had brought national and even international attention to Bihar. “The upcoming assembly elections are a small battle, after which our responsibility will only grow,” he told the gathering.

The event, rescheduled from October 2 because of Dussehra, saw leaders draw inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, whose birth anniversaries fall on the same day. State President Manoj Bharti urged members to commit themselves to public good, regardless of electoral results.
Other leaders, including former IAS officer Lallan Ji, former IPS officer RK Mishra, Vineeta Vijay, Obaidur Rahman, and Sudhir Sharma, linked Jan Suraaj’s vision to the legacies of Gandhi, Ambedkar, Jayaprakash Narayan, Lohia, and Karpoori Thakur. They stressed women’s participation, minority rights, and an alternative to what they described as Bihar’s entrenched caste- and corruption-driven politics.
“This is its message,” RK Mishra said of the party’s October 2 founding date. “No matter how deep the darkness of falsehood is, victory will be ours.”
The event concluded with party treasurer Arvind Singh delivering a vote of thanks.
