During the event, Nitish Kumar also remotely laid the foundation stone for Mother Dairy’s Rs 250 crore milk processing plant at Jamalpur Industrial Area under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. The plant, expected to benefit dairy farmers across Munger, Bhagalpur, Banka, Khagaria, Lakhisarai, and Jamui, was accompanied by the launch of the “Gift Milk Programme,” providing free milk packets to schoolchildren.
Speaking at the event, Nitish Kumar said the state government was committed to ensuring economic empowerment through rural and infrastructural development. “Mother Dairy’s new plant will strengthen Bihar’s dairy sector and benefit thousands of farmers. Large-scale efforts are being made to boost milk, fish, and livestock production in the state,” he said.

The Chief Minister also announced that marriage halls would be constructed in every panchayat at a cost of Rs 4,260 crore and that the interest rate on Jeevika women’s bank loans had been reduced from 10% to 7%.
Reflecting on Bihar’s progress since 2005, Nitish said: “Before 2005, nothing was done for Bihar’s development. Since the NDA government came to power, we have made progress in every sector — education, health, roads, electricity, and employment. Our goal is to provide one crore jobs and employment opportunities in the next five years.”
The event was attended by senior state ministers, officials, and beneficiaries from across Munger district, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the expansion of social and infrastructure schemes.
