Patna: In preparation for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch a statewide campaign to gather public suggestions for its manifesto, aiming to reach over one crore people. The campaign, running from October 5 to 20, will combine on-ground and digital outreach to shape what the party calls a “people’s manifesto.”
Cooperation Minister and manifesto committee member Dr. Prem Kumar announced the initiative on Saturday at the BJP state office in Patna. “We are committed to creating a manifesto that reflects the aspirations of every Bihari. More than one crore people will be invited to share their views and suggestions,” he said.
As part of the campaign, over 3,000 suggestion boxes will be placed at key public locations, including railway stations, markets, intersections, and malls across all 243 assembly constituencies. Party workers and volunteers from various BJP cells will also engage with citizens directly to collect feedback.
Dr. Kumar added that in addition to physical boxes, suggestions would be solicited via a missed-call number and email to reach people through digital channels. “In this technological age, we are blending traditional and digital approaches to ensure every voice is heard,” he said.
State BJP president Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha will jointly flag off the manifesto campaign vehicles — referred to as “Sankalp Rath” — from the party’s Patna headquarters on Sunday.
State spokesperson and committee member Suresh Rungta said the campaign will also include inputs from social and trade organizations. “People can give suggestions by making a missed call on 8980243243. They will then receive a callback to record their ideas,” he explained.
Party MP Manan Mishra said the BJP’s campaign sets a benchmark for participatory politics. “No other party consults so widely before releasing its manifesto. This effort will make the BJP’s manifesto a reflection of the people’s voice,” he said.
The BJP aims to craft a vision document that emphasizes development, infrastructure, and employment in Bihar — issues likely to dominate the upcoming assembly elections.
