Patna: Police have arrested six men and one woman in connection with the brutal assault and gang-rape of a minor dancer who was lured to Patna from Kolkata under the pretext of performing in an orchestra. The shocking incident occurred at a house in Vishnupur Pakri, Cooperative Colony, under the Beur police station area.
City Superintendent of Police (West), Bhanu Pratap Singh, confirmed the arrests, stating that three dancers were called from Kolkata. They were subsequently housed in a residence in Cooperative Colony, where the minor girl was sexually assaulted.
“Upon receiving information about the gang-rape of a minor girl in the house, the police immediately took action,” said Singh. “We raided the premises, exposed the gang, and successfully arrested seven people involved in the crime, including one woman.”
The investigation has revealed that the victims were initially invited for a dance program scheduled during the upcoming Durga Puja festival. A person from Kolkata, who facilitated the trip, is currently being sought by the police.
