Patna: The Bihar Education Department is set to accelerate the process of filling vacant librarian posts across the state. Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari issued directions for prompt action during a departmental review meeting held at the Madan Mohan Auditorium in Vikas Bhawan on Monday.
The meeting covered several issues related to teacher services, recruitment, salary payments, school administration and the implementation of education schemes.
Offline Applications to End After September 5
The Education Minister directed officials to discontinue offline applications from teachers after September 5.
After the deadline, teachers will have to submit their applications exclusively through the e-Shikshakosh portal. The move is intended to streamline administrative procedures and strengthen the digital management of teacher-related services.
Seven Months’ Salary Arrears for Sanskrit, Madrasa Teachers
The minister also reviewed the pending payment of seven months’ salary arrears to Sanskrit and Madrasa teachers.
Officials were instructed to speed up the process and ensure that the outstanding payments are made before September 5.
BEO Responsibilities Under Review
The meeting also discussed the allocation of responsibilities of Block Education Officers (BEOs).
The department considered assigning BEO responsibilities to newly appointed Bihar Education Service officers. Giving priority to Block Development Officers (BDOs) for these responsibilities was also discussed.
Integrated Schools Planned in Four Districts
The Education Minister announced plans to establish Integrated Schools at locations where adequate land is available.
Government Sanskrit High Schools in Araria, Saran, Madhubani and Bhagalpur were among those discussed. Sanskrit education will continue in these institutions.
The department will also take steps to remove encroachments from school land. A committee comprising Sanskrit scholars will be formed to work on the development and promotion of Sanskrit education.
Workshop for Model School Headmasters on September 19
A workshop for headmasters of model schools operating as Saraswati Vidya Niketan will be held on September 19 at Gyan Bhawan, Patna.
The workshop will focus on strengthening academic systems and improving the quality of education in these schools.
CM Sahyog Portal Cases to Be Resolved Within Deadline
The minister also reviewed cases received through the CM Sahyog Portal and directed officials to address them seriously within the stipulated timeframe.
He emphasised that ensuring the timely delivery of benefits under Education Department schemes to students, teachers and the general public should remain a priority.
