Patna: LPG consumers in Bihar who have not yet completed their e-KYC verification have been advised to do so before August 16 to avoid possible disruption in LPG services.
Recent reports have stated that customers who fail to complete the required verification by the deadline could face restrictions on cylinder booking. Consumers are therefore being advised not to wait until the last date.
Why Is LPG e-KYC Required?
The e-KYC process is aimed at verifying genuine LPG consumers, identifying duplicate or irregular connections and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive government benefits and subsidies.
The government has been using Aadhaar-based authentication and other digital checks to strengthen verification and remove duplicate or ineligible LPG connections.
Who Should Complete e-KYC?
Consumers whose LPG records or verification have not yet been updated should complete the process at the earliest.
Those who have already completed the required verification generally do not need to repeat the process. Consumers should also rely on communication from their LPG company or distributor rather than unverified social media messages.
How Can LPG Consumers Complete e-KYC?
Consumers can complete the verification through multiple channels:
- At the gas agency: Visit the registered LPG distributor with the required identification and consumer details.
- During cylinder delivery: e-KYC or biometric verification may be completed through the digital device used by the delivery personnel.
- Through the mobile app: Eligible consumers can use the official app of their LPG company to complete the digital verification process.
Keep These Details Ready
Consumers visiting their LPG agency should carry their Aadhaar card, LPG consumer/passbook details and registered mobile number, as applicable.
The digital verification process is also intended to make consumer authentication easier and reduce the need for repeated visits to LPG agencies.
Consumers Advised Not To Wait Until The Deadline
With the August 16 deadline approaching, LPG users who have pending verification are advised to complete the process as soon as possible.
Since LPG booking and subsidy-related rules can vary according to the consumer’s status and LPG company, customers should confirm their individual e-KYC status with their distributor or the official LPG service channel before assuming that their connection will be disconnected.
