Patna: Bihar’s Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin has said that a tender has been issued for building a four-lane road between Mokama and Munger on NH-33. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), New Delhi, will handle this project. The road will be 82.40 km long and is estimated to cost Rs 2,243.16 crore. The last date to submit the tender is 10 September 2025.
The minister said that around 14 km of this road will also be part of the Raxaul-Haldia Expressway. Land acquisition work for this greenfield highway is already in progress. The government wants to finish the tender process in the next two months and start construction work soon.
Minister Nitin Nabin added that this project is part of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s plan to improve infrastructure in Bihar. Once this road is built, people from faraway areas will be able to reach Patna in just four hours, making travel easier for everyone. The work is expected to be completed within two and a half years after it is allotted.
After the road is built, the contractor will also maintain it for the next 15 years. The minister thanked Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for supporting this project. He said that the state government will give full support to NHAI to complete the highway on time and improve transport and development in Bihar.
