The Meteorological Department has confirmed that no active weather system is currently developing over the Bay of Bengal, which has severely reduced the prospects of widespread rain. The outlook for the coming week is for dry weather to prevail across Bihar.
Forecasters predict that maximum daytime temperatures may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next 48 hours. While the minimum (nighttime) temperature is expected to remain steady, the combination of dry air and strong sun means people will still experience some discomfort during the peak daylight hours due to lingering humidity.
Official Monsoon Departure Expected
Meteorologists predict that the official window for the monsoon’s departure from Bihar is between October 10 and 15.
The change is primarily attributed to a shift in wind patterns. Dry winds are now blowing in from the northwest, gradually reducing humidity levels and causing the noticeable temperature fluctuations. This phenomenon leads to the cooler mornings but allows the afternoon sun to remain dominant.
In the capital city, Patna, the pattern is clear: no significant rain has been recorded for several days. Mornings and evenings are reportedly pleasant, but the intensity of the afternoon sun is becoming oppressive. Temperatures in Patna are expected to hover between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius during the day, with nighttime lows around 23 to 25 degrees Celsius. The sky is expected to remain clear, with no major meteorological changes anticipated for the next week.
