Patna: Patna is set to house India’s first Power Museum, with a detailed project presentation held on Thursday before Anjani Kumar Singh, advisor to the Chief Minister and Director General of Bihar Museum. The meeting took place at the Bihar Museum and included senior officials from the state’s power sector.
Manoj Kumar Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), and Rahul Kumar, Managing Director of the North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL), attended the briefing, where officials outlined the project’s vision, timeline and the proposed process for selecting implementing agencies.
Museum to rise on site of decommissioned power station

The museum will be developed across three acres of the decommissioned Karbighaiya Thermal Power Station in Patna. Conceived as the first facility of its kind in India, it aims to promote tourism, support educational research and preserve Bihar’s industrial heritage.
Officials described the project as a significant cultural and infrastructure initiative that will showcase the evolution of power generation and distribution while repurposing a historically important industrial site.
Senior officials participate in review

Those present at the meeting included Additional Director of Bihar Museum, Ashok Kumar Sinha; BSPHCL Chief Engineer (Civil), Manmohan Kumar; Executive Engineer (Civil), Ashish Kumar; and project committee members Chandrashekhar Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Soumya, Nupur and Keka Kumari.
The project is expected to move into its next phase after formal approval of the agency selection process, officials said.
