Patna:The process for appointing pro-vice chancellors in 14 universities across Bihar has begun, with eligible academicians invited to submit online applications by July 1.
The recruitment advertisement was issued under the directions of Governor-cum-Chancellor Syed Ata Hasnain and signed by his Additional Chief Secretary, Deepak Kumar Singh.

Lok Bhavan outlines eligibility criteria
According to the advertisement, applicants must be distinguished academicians with substantial experience in higher education and academic administration.
Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience as a professor at a university. Individuals with equivalent experience in reputed research institutions or academic and administrative organisations are also eligible to apply.
Applicants must additionally demonstrate proven academic leadership experience.
Age limit and application process
The advertisement states that candidates must not be older than 67 years as of the application deadline.
Applications will be accepted only through the online mode. The last date for submission is July 1 at 6 pm.
Authorities have said incomplete applications or those received after the deadline will not be considered.
Shortlisted candidates to face presentation and interview
Candidates shortlisted during the screening process will be invited by the search committee to make presentations and appear for interviews before final selections are made.
Warning against recommendations and influence
Raj Bhavan has emphasised transparency in the recruitment process and stated that any attempt to use recommendations, lobbying or external influence may be treated as grounds for disqualification.
The condition has been explicitly mentioned in the appointment advertisement.
