Patna: Indian Railways has started operations of a new weekly express train between Raxaul and Tirupati from June 1, aiming to enhance long-distance connectivity for passengers across Bihar and southern India.
Train No. 17434/17433, the Raxaul–Tirupati–Raxaul Express, will operate once a week and is expected to serve both religious travellers and long-distance passengers from multiple districts in the state.
Direct Link Between Bihar and South India
According to officials of Indian Railways, the new service will provide a direct rail connection to Tirupati, a major religious and tourism centre in South India.
The train is expected to benefit passengers from key districts including Darbhanga, Samastipur, Barauni, Jhajha, and Sitamarhi, among others, by reducing the need for multiple train changes.
Route and Major Stops
The train will pass through several major junctions across multiple states. The route includes Darbhanga, Samastipur, Barauni, Jhajha, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Rourkela, Bilaspur, Raipur, Gondia, and Secunderabad before reaching Tirupati.
Timings And Frequency
The Tirupati–Raxaul Express (17433) will depart from Tirupati every Monday at 8:15 am from June 1 and reach Raxaul on Wednesday at 5 pm after halting at major stations including Kiul, Jhajha, Barauni, Samastipur, Darbhanga, and Sitamarhi.
In the return direction, the Raxaul–Tirupati Express (17434) will depart every Thursday at 3:15 am from June 4 and reach Tirupati on Saturday at 9:30 am after covering the same route in reverse.
Train Composition
The newly introduced service consists of 24 coaches, designed to accommodate long-distance passengers across multiple categories. The schedule has been planned to ensure weekly connectivity between Bihar and southern India.
