Patna: Bihar government has taken a significant step to strengthen its farming sector with the launch of the Rabi Maha Abhiyan 2025-26. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the campaign from his residence at 1 Anne Marg. On this occasion, he also flagged off special LED-equipped awareness vehicles that will travel to all 38 districts of the state. These vehicles are designed to reach the Panchayat level, ensuring that farmers receive information about modern farming techniques, government schemes, and financial support available to them.
The campaign is led by the Agriculture Department and aims to improve the productivity and quality of Rabi season crops. Agricultural experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendras and extension workers will visit farms to educate farmers about crop management, climate-friendly farming, and how to use modern techniques effectively. The campaign will also provide transparent access to government grants, training programs, and other benefits, making it easier for farmers to take advantage of available resources.
During the campaign, farmers will have access to certified seeds, fertilizers, and other essential agricultural inputs at subsidized rates. Seeds for wheat, maize, pulses, oilseeds, and horticultural crops will be distributed. This support will not only reduce the cost of farming for farmers but also increase crop production. The government’s goal is to empower farmers with both knowledge and resources so that they can improve their harvest and earn better prices for their crops in the market.
Several senior officials attended the launch of the campaign, including Energy and Planning and Development Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Panchayati Raj Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner S. Siddharth, and Agriculture Department Principal Secretary Pankaj Kumar. With the Rabi Maha Abhiyan 2025-26, Bihar aims to transform its agricultural landscape and provide farmers with the tools and knowledge they need for a prosperous and sustainable future.
