Patna: The Bihar education department has released Rs 70 crore for the payment of salaries and pending dues of duly appointed teachers and employees of recognised aided Sanskrit schools during the financial year 2026-27.
The department communicated the release of the funds to the Accountant General on September 1, according to the order cited in the report.
The government had approved a total allocation of Rs 80 crore for salary payments and arrears of eligible teachers and staff working in non-government recognised aided Sanskrit schools. Of this amount, Rs 70 crore has now been released.
Payments To Be Made Through Bank Accounts
The education department has directed that payments to eligible teachers and employees will be made through their bank accounts.
District Programme Officers (Establishment) have been instructed to ensure salary payments to regularly appointed teachers working against sanctioned posts in duly recognised and functioning Sanskrit schools.
The payment will cover salaries and eligible pending salary dues under the approved allocation.
District-Wise Allocation
The education department has also fixed separate allocations for different districts. The released funds will be used to make payments to eligible Sanskrit school teachers and employees.
Districts with a higher number of Sanskrit schools have been allocated larger amounts, according to the department’s distribution plan.
The release is part of the state’s 2026-27 financial provision for recognised aided Sanskrit schools and is intended to facilitate payment of salaries and outstanding dues to eligible staff.
