Patna: Bihar will run a “Revenue Maha-Abhiyan” from 16 August to 20 September to solve common problems in land records. The campaign will cover issues like mutation, inheritance transfer, partition transfer, and missed jamabandi entries. Teams will visit homes to give copies of jamabandi and application forms so people can easily apply for corrections.
Additional chief secretary Deepak Kumar Singh said almost every family in Bihar is affected by land record issues despite services being online. Panchayat representatives will play a key role in spreading awareness and delivering documents. The best-performing teams will be rewarded at district and state levels.
The campaign will be held in three phases – preparation, organisation, and execution. A zone-wise micro-plan will be released by 12 August. Departments such as Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Scheduled Castes and Tribes, and Information and Public Relations will also take part, with their staff helping in the field.
Applications submitted in the camps will be registered with names and contact numbers so applicants can track their progress. At a meeting in Patna, leaders of various associations shared their suggestions, and officials promised to adopt useful ones. Senior officers from multiple departments attended the event.
