Patna: Candidates preparing for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET)-2026 have been given additional time to complete their applications, with the Bihar School Examination Board extending the deadline by 15 days.
The online application and examination fee submission window, which was earlier scheduled to close on August 31, will now remain open until September 15.
The extension is expected to provide relief to candidates who were unable to complete the application process for various reasons.
Deadline extended after candidates’ request
STET-2026 aspirants had approached Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari, requesting an extension of the application deadline. The minister had assured the candidates that their request would be considered sympathetically.
Following this, the Bihar School Examination Board decided to extend the application window.
Candidates can now submit their applications online and pay the prescribed examination fee until September 15.
Candidates advised not to wait until deadline
The Board has advised candidates to complete the application process at the earliest rather than waiting until the final date.
Once the extended application window closes, candidates will not have another opportunity to submit their applications under the current schedule.
Candidates are advised to follow the instructions issued by the Board while completing the application and fee payment process.
The extension is likely to increase the number of candidates appearing for STET-2026. Clearing the eligibility test is an important step for candidates seeking teaching opportunities at the secondary level in Bihar.
