Patna: Bihar Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday arrested Sanjay Singh, an alleged organised crime figure and the purported leader of the ‘Pandav Sena’ gang, during an operation at Patna Junction.
According to the STF, Singh, a resident of Nima village under Masaurhi police station in Patna district, had remained absconding for an extended period despite being wanted in several criminal cases. Officials described the arrest as a significant development in the state’s campaign against organised crime.
Wanted in AK-47 Recovery Case
The STF said Singh was also wanted in connection with the recovery of an AK-47 rifle in the Bihta Police Station Case No. 672/2025.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, an STF team conducted a raid at Patna Junction and took him into custody. Police said an FIR containing serious charges had already been registered against him in the case.
Criminal History Spanning Nearly Three Decades
According to police records, Singh has been named in 26 criminal cases registered between 1996 and 2025 across Bihar and Jharkhand.
The cases include allegations of murder, attempted murder, extortion, kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms, criminal conspiracy, robbery, assault, illegal mining, land-related offences and violations of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Police said cases against him have been registered at police stations in Patna, Jehanabad and Bhagalpur in Bihar, as well as Hazaribagh, Ranchi and other districts of Jharkhand.
In recent years, his name has also figured in murder cases registered at Patrakar Nagar, Masaurhi and Jehanabad police stations, along with cases involving extortion and illegal arms.
Investigation Into Network Continues
The STF said investigations are continuing to identify Singh’s associates and examine the extent of his alleged criminal network.
Officials said his interrogation is expected to provide leads in several pending investigations linked to organised crime and illegal activities operating across multiple districts.
Wife Raises Safety Concerns
Following the arrest, Singh’s wife, Pushpa Kumari, released a video expressing concern over her husband’s safety.
She said the couple had been travelling from Delhi to Patna on the Vikramshila Express when Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel took Singh into custody. According to her, she was informed that the Bihta police had detained him.
Pushpa Kumari said she fears for her husband’s safety and appealed for his well-being. Police have not responded publicly to her allegations.
