Patna: Bihar is set to experience strong winds of up to 40 mph over the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned, as the state gradually moves out of a period of harsh cold.
According to the Bihar Meteorological Service Centre, the state is currently under two distinct weather patterns. Many areas are experiencing mild cold accompanied by fog in the mornings and evenings, while daytime sunshine is driving temperatures upward. The overall forecast for the next 48 hours indicates dry conditions with scattered clouds, and sunshine across most regions.
Temperature readings across districts show notable variation. Ghorasahan in East Champaran recorded the lowest temperature at 8.8°C, while Pranpur in Katihar saw the highest daytime temperature at 31.9°C. In the state capital, Patna, temperatures are expected to range between 10°C and 28°C.
The IMD has issued alerts for light to moderate fog during mornings and evenings and moderate to strong winds reaching up to 40 km/h across the state. Officials say these conditions are not expected to cause significant fluctuations in temperature.
As Bihar emerges from the cold wave, residents can expect a gradual return to normal weather, with temperatures stabilising and largely sunny days ahead.
