Patna: The Bihar government has intensified security arrangements across its border districts in response to the ongoing “Zen Z” agitation and a series of jailbreak incidents in Nepal.
At a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, district magistrates and superintendents of police from all Nepal-bordering districts joined through video conferencing. Officials were instructed to carry out strict checks on everyone entering Bihar from across the border, with clear orders that no one should be allowed to enter without thorough verification.
Security agencies were also directed to maintain heightened vigilance over key infrastructure, including bridges, railway stations and power plants, to prevent any potential threats.
Pratyaya Amrit assured officials that they could directly contact him or the Director General of Police, Vinay Kumar, in case of emergencies or the need for additional assistance, allowing quick decisions without bureaucratic delays.
The meeting was also attended by senior officers including Additional Director General of Police Kundan Krishnan, divisional commissioners, inspector generals of police and other senior officials connected through video conferencing.
