Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for six development schemes in Patna district, totaling Rs 1,433.77 crore. The projects were inaugurated at Didarganj and Barh, with some unveiled remotely.
The initiatives include widening State Highway No 106 from Didarganj to Fatuha to Karjan into four lanes at a cost of Rs 1,065.53 crore, developing a crematorium near Umanath temple complex in Barh and constructing an electric crematorium at Rs 9.05 crore, and widening the 45.70 km Athmalgola to Mokama Bata Chowk section of the Bakhtiyarpur-Barh-Mokama road at Rs 249.88 crore.
Additional projects include building a bridge over the Ghoba river between Hidayatpur and Manjhauli in Bakhtiyarpur at Rs 11.92 crore, beautifying and developing civic amenities of the Umanath temple complex in Barh at Rs 67.74 crore, and constructing Barh water drainage system at Rs 29.65 crore.
The CM Nitish highlighted that the four-lane road from Didarganj to Karjan would ease traffic, while an elevated bypass in Bakhtiyarpur and a flyover in Fatuha would improve local movement. He also visited Seedhi Ghat in Bakhtiyarpur to review ongoing development work and conducted a field inspection of the Didarganj-Fatuha-Karjan road bypass, giving instructions to officials on project execution.
He prayed at Radhe Krishna Temple in Bakhtiyarpur and Umanath Temple in Barh for the state’s peace, prosperity, and happiness.
Senior officials and political leaders, including Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Bihar Assembly Speaker Nandkishore Yadav, MLA Gyanendra Singh Gyanu, Patna Division Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Commissioner, and the district magistrate, attended the program.
