The Education Department is set to release the transfer list of 10,322 teachers today, with special attention to women teachers’ family situations and convenience

Patna: The Bihar Education Department is expected to release the long-awaited transfer list of 10,322 teachers on Monday. The transfers will affect teachers from classes 6 to 12 across the state.

According to departmental officials, 2,043 teachers will receive both district and school allocations, while 6,335 teachers will be allotted only districts for now. Schools for these teachers will later be decided by the establishment committees of their respective districts.

So far, 65,277 teachers have been transferred under the ongoing process, although 4,110 teachers have refused their transfers. Officials stated that the department will review these refusals and take further action as required.

This transfer process has been designed to ensure transparency and match teachers to schools based on their preferences and vacancies. Special consideration is being given to women teachers. Of the teachers listed today, 881 women will be allotted schools, while 1,063 will receive both district and school postings. Officials said that family situations and convenience of women teachers have been prioritised in this process.

“There was a long-standing demand for the posting and transfer of teachers across Bihar. The shortage of subject teachers was disrupting children’s education in many districts,” an Education Department official said. The department added that its primary goal is to remove teacher shortages without affecting the education system.
