Patna: The Bihar government has launched a dedicated digital platform aimed at streamlining tourism bookings across the state, allowing travellers to reserve hotels and tour packages online in a single click.
The new portal, https://bstdcmis.bihar.gov.in/, developed by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation), brings together accommodation and travel planning services for visitors exploring destinations across the state.
Officials said the platform currently enables booking across 38 government-run hotels, with detailed information on each property now available online. The system is designed to allow users to select hotels based on preference and complete bookings entirely through a digital interface.
The move is part of a wider push by the state’s tourism department to modernise services ahead of the summer travel season, when domestic tourism typically rises.
Alongside hotel reservations, the portal will also facilitate bookings for curated tour packages covering key destinations including Patna, Pawapuri, Kakolat Waterfall, Nalanda, Rajgir and Bodh Gaya.
According to the corporation, package prices have been fixed between Rs 2,600 and Rs 3,500 per person. The fares include meals such as breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and bottled water, as well as travel in air-conditioned buses, guided tours and entry tickets to monuments.
A minimum group size of 10 passengers will be required for each booking, the authorities said, to ensure operational efficiency.
Tour operations and bookings will be handled by authorised agencies, including Shyam Forex Tours & Travelers and Visit Bihar.
The packages also include a “Patna Darshan” city tour, covering landmarks such as the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Maidan, the Bihar Museum, Buddha Smriti Park, Ganga Path and evening river cruise experiences.
Bookings for the Rajgir Ropeway are also available through the platform, further expanding access to tourism infrastructure in the region.
Officials say the initiative is intended to consolidate fragmented travel services and make Bihar’s heritage sites more accessible to domestic and international visitors.
