Patna: Un-aided teachers in Bihar are set to receive a major relief as the state government moves to address long-standing salary concerns. Ahead of the assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has constituted a committee to review and streamline payments for teachers and non-teaching staff across the state’s educational institutions, including Sanskrit schools and madrasas.
The newly formed committee will examine all aspects related to salaries and allowances for un-aided teachers, a move aimed at increasing transparency and ensuring timely payments. It is also expected to propose solutions for other financial and administrative issues affecting teaching staff.
The committee, chaired by an appointed head, includes Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit and eight other members. It is scheduled to meet monthly to monitor salary disbursements and resolve discrepancies, while also providing recommendations on wider concerns as needed.
Officials said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving education standards and supporting teachers in the state.
