Patna: Eligible voters in Bihar who are unable to complete their voter list verification by July 26 will get another opportunity, according to the Election Commission. The claim-objection window will open from August 1 to September 1, allowing people to apply for inclusion of their names by submitting Form-6 along with a declaration form (Annexure D).
The special intensive revision of the electoral roll, which began on June 25, aims to ensure that every eligible voter is included before the state assembly election next year. Currently, there are 7,89,69,844 registered voters across Bihar’s 243 assembly constituencies. New counting forms are being printed and distributed door-to-door, while an online facility for form submission remains active, especially for voters residing abroad. Their documents will be verified by booth-level officers (BLOs) through home visits.
The Election Commission has appointed an additional 20,603 BLOs for newly established polling stations, bringing the total number of BLOs to nearly one lakh. More than one lakh volunteers will assist genuine voters, including elderly, disabled, sick, and marginalised individuals, during this revision campaign.
