Bihar Engineering University Declares B.Tech Final Results, Launches Phd Programme and New M.Tech Courses

Patna: Bihar Engineering University (BEU) has announced the results of the eighth semester of its 2021–2025 B.Tech cohort, marking the timely completion of the academic session. In a major academic development, the university has also released the list of successful candidates for its newly introduced PhD programme, which will be offered in both full-time and part-time formats.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Bihar’s Minister for Science, Technology and Technical Education, Sumit Kumar Singh, called the developments a “proud moment for Bihar,” highlighting the state’s consistent push for accessible and quality technical education. “We began with BTech and MTech programmes at government colleges with a symbolic fee of just Rs 5 per month. Now, moving forward to launch PhD programmes reflects our commitment to empowering the next generation of engineers and researchers,” he said.

Singh also noted that upgraded infrastructure, BPSC-recruited faculty, and hostel facilities have contributed to improved student outcomes, with many securing placements in top companies and gaining admission into premier institutions such as IITs and NITs. One-third of seats in BTech and MTech courses have been reserved for female students to promote inclusivity in technical education.

Dr Pratima, Secretary of the Department, praised the timely result declaration as a symbol of academic efficiency. She underlined the state’s efforts to bridge academia and industry, citing initiatives such as Industry Institute Meets and collaboration with industrial bodies. She also highlighted new job-oriented courses aligned with current market demands—such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, and Food Technology & Management.

Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) S.K. Verma announced that BEU will introduce an MTech course in Geoinformatics starting from the 2025–27 academic session. He confirmed that classes for the incoming BTech batch (2025–2029) will commence on July 21, with a renewed focus on transparent evaluation and research-based learning. He also shared that BEU was recently honoured with the Best Emerging University Award by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in 2024.

The press conference was attended by key dignitaries, including Additional Secretary and Director Ahmed Mahmood, Registrar Pradeep Kumar, and Dr Anant Kumar, Project Director of Bihar Council on Science and Technology. Dr Kumar concluded the event with a vote of thanks, extending best wishes to the students on behalf of the university.
