Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has made the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID mandatory for students studying in Classes IX to XII across the state.
In a directive issued to district education officers (DEOs), the board has asked them to ensure the IDs are generated by June 30, warning that students without the document could face problems during board exam registration.
APAAR ID linked to board registration
According to the board, the Ministry of Education has made APAAR ID compulsory for all school students across the country.
BSEB said students appearing for Class X and Class XII board examinations must have their APAAR ID linked with the school’s U-DISE code at the time of registration.
Officials said the deadline for completing the process has been fixed by the ministry.
Schools asked to review pending cases
The board has directed DEOs to hold meetings with heads of secondary and higher secondary schools to review students who are yet to obtain their APAAR IDs.
School principals have been instructed to complete the process for all pending students by the deadline.
Students may miss exam registration
BSEB said students enrolled in U-DISE-recognised schools who fail to generate their APAAR ID may be unable to complete registration for the board examinations.
Without registration, students would not be able to fill examination forms for Class X or Class XII, which could affect their eligibility to appear in the exams.
