Patna: The Railways has begun installing modern facilities, including large LED/LCD train timing display boards and automated ticket kiosks, at Bihar’s first Multi Modal Transport Hub in Patna. The upgrades are intended to make travel more convenient and efficient for the 15,000 passengers who use the hub daily.
Located near GPO Golambar, the Multi Modal Hub integrates bus, auto, taxi and private vehicle parking services under one roof. It is directly connected to Patna Junction through a 440-metre underground subway, allowing passengers seamless movement between modes of transport.
The new display boards will show clear details of platform numbers, arrival and departure times, train numbers and coach positions, reducing confusion and saving time for passengers.
In addition, the installation of Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) and kiosks will allow passengers to purchase tickets quickly using UPI, cards or code-based payment methods. Officials said the expansion of these machines will cut down on queues and provide a smart, comfortable experience for travellers.
