Patna: LJP(R) National President Chirag Paswan has clarified that he has no ambition to become Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, stressing that his political priorities lie beyond positions and power.
In an interview, Paswan said his primary focus was on strengthening the party and empowering the youth. “My goal is not any post but the progress of Bihar and its young generation,” he stated.
Rejecting any suggestion that the LJP might be swayed by political offers, Paswan added, “Many parties and alliances are active in Bihar politics, but the LJP will not be tempted by any position or greed.” He reiterated that the party’s commitment was to development, employment, and the welfare of the weaker sections of society.
According to political analysts, Paswan’s remarks reflect a strategic attempt to project the LJP as an independent and principled force ahead of the 2025 assembly elections. He underscored that the party’s vision extends beyond “electoral arithmetic and power games,” aiming instead to deliver “stable and accountable leadership” to the people of Bihar.
On potential alliances, Paswan maintained that while the party would take pragmatic decisions, it would not compromise on its core principles for the sake of power-sharing arrangements. “We will move forward on the agenda of public trust and development,” he said.
Concluding his remarks, the LJP chief appealed to citizens and party workers to actively participate in the democratic process. “Serving the people stands above politics,” he said, urging voters to choose representatives who prioritise Bihar’s growth and integrity.
