Patna: As Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, turns 36 on Sunday, his supporters have filled Patna’s streets with birthday posters proclaiming him the state’s “future Chief Minister”.
The large posters, featuring Yadav with folded hands beside a symbolic Chief Minister’s chair, read “CM of Bihar” in bold letters — a gesture that party workers describe as a “birthday gift” from the people. The posters also carry images of his parents, RJD chief Lalu Prasad and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, alongside his sister Misa Bharti and other party figures.
One of the posters celebrates Yadav as “the hope of the future”, pledging that he will deliver economic justice to “the poor, women, the most backward classes, minorities, and Dalits”. It also echoes Yadav’s promise of employment for every household, with wishes from “the people of Bihar to the youngest Chief Minister-to-be of India.”
Party workers are reportedly planning a range of activities to mark the day, including the distribution of pens to symbolise education and opportunity. Events are expected to take place near the RJD headquarters on Veerchand Patel Path in Patna.
RJD secretary Arun Kumar Yadav said the enthusiasm among supporters reflected growing public confidence in Tejashwi’s leadership. “The huge turnout at rallies and the public’s anger against the government make Tejashwi’s appointment as Chief Minister certain,” he said. “The people of Bihar are gifting him the CM’s chair.”
