Patna: The Paswan family’s influence in Bihar politics continues to expand as Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan officially enters his nephew, Seemant Mrinal, into electoral politics. Mrinal has been nominated to contest the Garkha seat, a constituency reserved for Scheduled Castes.
Seemant Mrinal is the son of Dhanjay Mrinal, Ram Vilas Paswan’s son-in-law and chairman of the Bihar Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The party unveiled a total of 14 candidates for various assembly constituencies on Wednesday evening, announced by national general secretary Abdul Khaliq.

Among the nominations, Raju Tiwari will contest from Govindganj, Sanjay Kumar Singh from Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Vishnu Dev Paswan from Darauli (Scheduled Caste reserved), and Seemant Mrinal from Garkha. Other nominees include Surendra Kumar from Sahebpur Kamal, Sanjay Kumar from Bakhri (Scheduled Caste), Babulal Shaurya from Parbatta, Mithun Kumar from Nathnagar, Sunil Kumar from Paliganj, Hulas Pandey from Brahmapur, Rajiv Ranjan Singh from Dehri, and Sangeeta Devi from Balrampur.
Rani Kumari and Prakash Chandra have been nominated from Makhdumpur and Obra, respectively. Most of the candidates come from diverse professional backgrounds, reflecting the party’s attempt to balance experience and representation.
