Patna: Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) organised an orientation programme for the newly admitted PGDM 2026–28 batch, aimed at introducing students to its academic ecosystem, institutional values and learning culture.
The programme focused on building confidence among students as they begin their management education journey, with emphasis on discipline, holistic development and professional readiness.
Academic Introduction and Student Engagement
The programme opened with a welcome address by Dr. Sunil Kumar Dr. Sunil Kumar, Associate Dean (Academics), who introduced the institute’s academic philosophy and learning environment.
He urged students to maintain a balance between academics, extracurricular activities, physical well-being, financial awareness and social engagement. He also encouraged participation in classroom discussions, case studies, research projects, seminars and campus activities.

Highlighting the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, he advised students to use AI as a supportive tool while ensuring it does not replace critical thinking, creativity and independent analysis.
Leadership, Innovation and National Vision
Director Prof. Rana Singh Prof. Rana Singh welcomed the new batch and encouraged students to embrace continuous learning, adaptability and innovation in an evolving technological landscape.
He noted that students are entering an era shaped by Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and advanced technologies, where lifelong learning will be essential for success.
Referring to Bihar’s intellectual heritage, he highlighted the contributions of Lord Buddha and mathematician Aryabhata, urging students to contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 through knowledge, innovation and responsible leadership.
Prof. Singh also underscored CIMP’s growing work in case writing, research and experiential learning. Quoting Ramdhari Singh Dinkar Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, he stressed discipline, perseverance and initiative as key drivers of success.
Chief Guest Address
The chief guest, Dr. Vivek Kumar Singh Dr. Vivek Kumar Singh, delivered an address focused on excellence, self-belief and consistency.

Citing Walt Disney Walt Disney, he said excellence is achieved through sincerity and commitment rather than shortcuts.
He urged students to trust themselves, value their institution and remain confident in their abilities while continuously upgrading skills and knowledge.

Speakers collectively emphasised the integration of technology with ethical leadership and human values.
